Thrive in Turbulent Times: Profit from the Positive

Re-think being on autopilot with how we live, work and thrive; of our health and well-being and how to design and lead dental practices and teams.  This program provides practices and individuals with tools to increase their resilience, productivity and happiness levels (yes, research shows that “a person’s” happiness is important and highly correlated with success).

Lifestyle Dentistry: Connection before Correction

Wellness and economics are now intertwined. By 2030 government expenditures on health care are projected to reach 50% of government revenues, much of which could be avoided if people do now, what's needed to prevent disease. The impact of lifestyle choices, health and wellbeing is research based and recognized. Therefore affecting behavioral change and motivating individuals toward better choices is an area of active interest and research. This course seeks to introduce clinicians to coaching and communication tools that will build on profitability.

  3. Coach approach to being the expert
  4. Principles of Appreciative Inquiry and Motivational Interviewing

Promising Outcomes: Basic How to Coaching for Leaders and Peers

The desire to improve individual performance and productivity is the most widely cited reason for using a coach. The new domains of positive psychology and coaching psychology have taught us much about what it takes to be at our best with respect to health, well-being, and performance at home and work. This workshop is appropriate for those new to coaching and or involved in peer to peer coaching.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Introduction to coaching
  2. What coaching is and what it is not
  3. Links between positive psychology and peak performance

Enamel Therapy: The Next Generation of Care

A changing paradigm in caries management has widened our decisions in dental preventive care. With terms such as “minimally invasive” and “remineralization technologies,” we are faced with a new decision model in diagnosing and treating the caries disease process. This program will review the historic trends in caries control and introduce the exciting new trends in desensitization, topical fluorides, prophy pastes and varnish therapies.

Course Objectives:

  1. Discuss trends in the management of caries in all patient profiles and age groups.
  2. Compare and discuss the current delivery systems which contain technologies claiming enamel restoration and remineralization.
  3. Formulate an effective treatment plan in enamel therapy.
